Dear Lakehead Archers Members,

  The current membership year ends on August 31 and all memberships

  will expire at that time. If you intend to renew your membership for next

  year, you must complete the attached renewal form and send it in with

  your payment by September 1. Please ensure that all parts of the form

  are completed correctly.                                                                          

  Remember that your options for paying are in one lump sum or three    

  post-dated cheques (Sept. 1, Oct. 1 and Nov. 1). Cheques and            

  forms can be dropped off at the club or mailed to Lakehead Archers,

  If you are unsure as to whether or not you have met the required         

  number of hours to earn your volunteer discount, please contact any   

  member of the Executive.                                                                      

    If you do not intend to renew your membership, you must notify             

  Lakehead Archers and return your club key no later than Sept. 30 or  

  you will forfeit your $50 key deposit.                                                    

        All alarm codes will be deactivated by Sept. 30 if no renewal is received

  by that time.                                                                                          

 


Dear Lakehead Archers Members,
 
As a result of the voting at the recent General Membership Meeting on April 27, the following changes will be made regarding membership fees effective the new membership year on Sept. 1, 2010:
 
1.  Annual fee increase
                - a yearly family membership will cost $390 (an increase of $30 from the present rate of $360)
                - a yearly adult single membership will cost $260 (an increase of $20 from the present rate of $240)
                - a yearly youth single membership will cost $200 (an increase of $20 from the present rate of $180)
                   **the option to pay in either one lump sum or three equal monthly cheques will remain
 
2.  Increase in Volunteer Incentive Discount
                - members who have met the minimum number of volunteer hours, as outlined below, will receive the
                  following discount on their annual membership fees:
                - family membership - a combined total of 30 hours per family in the current membership year will result in a
                  $60 discount toward the upcoming year's fees
                - adult single - a total of 20 hours per member will result in a discount of $40 toward the upcoming year's fees
                - youth single - a total of 15 hours per member will result in a discount of $30 toward the upcoming
                  year's fees
**please remember that it is up to the member to ensure that their volunteer hours are properly tracked in the book in the canteen - after volunteering at an event, write your hours in the book and ask the supervising executive member to sign off on the hours.  If you don't track your own hours, we will not be responsible for any unaccounted for volunteer time!
** there is no discount given to those members that fall below the minimum hours as indicated above
 
3.  OFAH Membership for Pro-rated Members
                - for insurance/liability purposes, all members who take out a pro-rated membership at Lakehead Archers (i.e.
                - sign up after Sept.) will have to purchase a one-year OFAH membership through the club.  This is to ensure that the club is fully insured for all members and guests.  Therefore, they will be required to pay the pro-rated membership dues PLUS the rate for the required OFAH membership.  The current rate for this membership is:  family - $43.50, adult single $32.50, Junior $29.50, Junior (without magazine) $5. 

These changes were proposed at the General Membership Meeting and were voted in by those members who were present.  The annual fee increases will help to offset the loss in revenue due to the cancellation of birthday parties because of the lack of volunteers.  The volunteer incentive discount is intended to benefit those members who bring in extra club revenue by volunteering their time to run parties, electives and other shoots as well as to help maintain the club facilities.  The third change is to fully protect the club and all its members.  Thank you to all those who attended the membership meeting to put forth their ideas and support.
